Feast of the Immaculate Conception Readings Reflection Today is an Holy Day of obligation – sometimes I wish they would change the wording to Holy Day of celebration – and it is appropriate to reflect on the readings for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.   The first reading, Gn 3:20, the woman is given a name of Eve, meaning “mother of all the living.”  Catholics know that Mary is the New Eve.  Hence, we know that Mary is Our Mother, see John 19:27.   The second reading, Eph 1:3-6, 11-12, once again has a familial character when it says “in [...]
